Relaxing Roatan

Surrounded by the second largest coral reef in the world, Roatán offers the most spectacular scuba diving, pristine beaches, and authentic Caribbean charm. The largest of the Bay Islands is the second port-of-call on our DDC19 trip. Check out these excursions and get ready to shop, swim, snorkel or sunbathe the day away.

Getaway to the Pristine Bay Resort

Join us at the luxurious, private, oceanfront Pristine Bay Resort as a member for the day. The 400 acres of lush, tropical flora and fauna overlook Black Pearl, a fabulous 18-hole championship golf course. When you’re not golfing, you can choose to enjoy the two-level infinity-edge pool, take a stroll along the private beach, or snorkel with reef fish, eagle rays, and sea turtles.

Enjoy a bite to eat poolside, at the Beach Club, or dine at the Mediterranean inspired restaurant, Las Pergolas. Whether you dive deep into a good book, play a round of golf, or set your sights on a stingray, it’ll be a day of luxury and adventure!

Escape to Big French Key

If you’d prefer something a little more secluded, the private island of Big French Key offers the beauty of shimmering turquoise waters and the tranquility of nature. Located just off the shore of Roatán, the island is largely undeveloped and free for you to explore and enjoy as you wish. Sunbathe on the beach, take a dip in the crystal clear sea, enjoy a drink under a shady palm tree, linger over lunch at the Beach Club, or take in a water sport. This beach-rimmed paradise is the picture of relaxation.

Spend the day on Tabyana Beach

Tabyana Beach is considered to be Roatán’s finest beach, and for good reason. It’s where the jungle meets the sandy white beach and its sparkling waters. The combination of the lush tropical vegetation, the warmth of the sun, and the cool Caribbean winds create the ultimate paradise. The pristine coral reefs are close to the water’s edge, and the sea is calm, so snorkeling is especially popular. You can also jet ski, kayak, parasail, or jump on a banana boat and cruise around the bay. Grab a snack at the Beach Bar and Grill and be sure to visit the souvenir shop before you head back!

Experience the underwater world from a glass-bottom boat

Experience the beauty of Roatán’s exotic marine life without getting wet! Board one of the glass-bottom semi-submersible boats for an encounter that includes an air-conditioned hull and windows that extend six feet below the water’s surface. As you cruise over one of the world’s largest coral reefs, you’ll look straight out into the crystal clear underwater world that’s teeming with tropical fish. It’s a spectacular experience!

Back on dry land, you’ll head over to shops at the West End Village where you can enjoy a delicious cup of fresh-brewed Honduran coffee. You’ll tour the Stone Castle Cameo Factory where their skilled artisans will demonstrate how they hand-carve each piece into a one-of-a-kind treasure. Their craft is truly remarkable!

Explore the best of the west

The robust shopping, the resorts, and the nature park are among the best attractions in Roatán. Your day will start with a scenic drive to the quaint, bohemian-style West End Village. Its unpaved streets and thriving shops, eclectic art galleries, and waterfront cafés give it a vibrant personality that is undeniably inviting and fun. Enjoy a leisurely walk or appreciate the local art before you head to the extreme adventure park.

Along the park’s nature trail, you’ll navigate old suspension bridges and make your way through the jungle canopy. The peaceful setting boasts colorful flowers, vine-draped trees, tropical birds, iguanas, and other exotic animals. The connection with nature is an enchanting experience.

San Simon Beach Club is the last stop, so soak up the island ambiance. Lounge in the shade, take a dip in the sea, stroll along the water’s edge and take in all the tranquility you can manage.

The sun and fun continues at our next port of call, Cozumel, Mexico. We’ll dish out the details soon, so stay tuned!
