First Financial Security’s DDC17 trip provided a world of adventure in the form of a luxury cruise through the Gulf of Alaska.
First Financial Security’s Dream Destination Conference (DDC) trips have a reputation for leaving travelers amazed and awed. This year’s event, May 30 to June 7, carried on the tradition. With the FFS DDC17 trip, the company’s top producers explored the Gulf of Alaska aboard Regent Seven Seas’ Mariner cruise ship.
Elite Qualifiers Tour Anchorage
The trip began with the Elite qualifiers arriving a few days early in stunning Anchorage, AK. Here, they were treated to a two-night stay at the beautiful Hotel Captain Cook. They indulged in world-class food and soaked in the many breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and sea.
The Elite winners were joined in Anchorage by Main Trip qualifiers and their guests on May 30. The next morning, they all embarked on an incredible bus ride to the Port of Seward, AK. With snowcapped mountains, glaciers and wildlife around every turn, the bus ride previewed what the seven-day cruise had in store.
Bon Voyage – Setting Sail
Upon boarding the Mariner, guests were welcomed with a glass of champagne. They also had an opportunity to explore the ship and see what it offered. From every suite’s private balcony to five-star dining, exciting clubs and dance floors, relaxing hot tubs and pool, guests knew this would be a trip to remember. And the best part was, it was all-inclusive.
The first full day on board, guests were treated to views of Hubbard Glacier. Everyone was entranced by the captivating turquoise and blues of this natural wonder.
Adventures Abound in Alaska
The next day offered the first opportunity to venture off the boat. The trip’s first port of call was the quaint town of Hoonah, AK. Here, many of FFS’ guests enjoyed a thrilling ride on one of the world’s largest zip lines. While others went on a search for bears and other wildlife. Then, there were those who paddled kayaks for a scenic tour of the coastline. Later that evening, guests enjoyed an exclusive FFS cocktail reception celebrating the first day in port.
Sat., June 3, qualifiers found themselves in picturesque Sitka, AK, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Guests explored the town by bike or on foot. Sitka offered another opportunity to spot sea otters, whales and other unique marine life.
The following morning, FFS hosted the annual DDC business meeting. Guests received recognition for achievements, helpful insight regarding the latest modifications in the industry and announcements regarding upcoming events.
Exploring Canada’s Western Coastline
Later the same day, attendees explored the first Canadian port – Prince Rupert, BC. Whether learning about Prince Rupert’s culture and heritage at a museum, or exploring the Butze Rainforest, attendees had a blast.
Mon., June 5, was another full day at sea. That evening Elite qualifiers were introduced to the Mariner’s captain and senior officers at a special cocktail reception.
On Tuesday, the ship docked in Victoria, BC. This city featured the iconic Butchart Gardens where many guests captured breathtaking photos of the floral displays. It also featured the chance to explore the historic and stunning architecture of downtown Victoria.
All Good Things Come to an End
The incredible trip came to an end in Vancouver, BC, on June 7, when everyone disembarked and headed for home. For seven days, they explored new, exciting cities and landscapes. They relaxed in their luxurious suites, or ate their fill at several world-class, on-board restaurants. They returned home relaxed, rested and focused on getting back to work with their teams and families, working hard for another opportunity to view the world through FFS’ Dream Destination Conference.
